BLURB
Alex Fisher grew up in the West of Scotland and began DJing about 5 years ago, taking
initial influence from some of the more subtle house DJs of that time – Sillicone soul,
i-cube, bobby peru and Brett Johnson were key figures. Originally from an Indie/rock
background, though always with a ravenous appetite for music, he connected with the
lure of House music before learning to appreciate the energy of Techno. Clubs like
Subclub, The Soundhaus, Club Metro and Club 69 helped sew the first seeds of an
electronic music education.

Alex bought his first set of decks and picked up DJing as an “i’ll show you”
to his mates who had laughed him off a first shot at an after party in Aberdeen.
The next time he returned up north was to play in Club Metro (who the night before had
Dave Clark playing and Sillicone Soul the night after). He then returned to Glasgow and
started a night called Nascent at various venues around the city including Club 69.

Time moved on and so did his Nascent companion so apart from being a guest at a few local
nights he started his current night Autokrat. The night progressed over a year in bar
Pivo before moving to current location Barfly.
Skip forward to 2007. Some things have changed, but plenty haven’t. The minimal
steamroller has passed on through, leaving many flat tracks and some questionable
haircuts in its wake. As Autokrat was progressing Alex started to play about with
production. Irrespective of fads and trends, to him its all about representing quality
Electronic music. He picked up a midi keyboard and a copy of reason and starting producing
with little regard for theboundaries between House and Techno, much less the swathe of
pointless sub-genres in between. The result was his ‘live’ alias Midular. After a
successful joint live set with him and his co Autokrat resident Dave Meike he upped his
production and his hardware. Midular now has more than 15 tracks with a wide range of
rhythms and textures.
